We had Martines do our wedding cake, we wanted a very simple two tier cake for cutting. They communicated well, they were very kind and did an amazing job. We did sheet cakes for guests since we didn’t do a big cake and they indented little lines so the caterer knew how to cut the cake to make the most slices, I thought that was so thoughtful! We did strawberry champagne cake for guests and it was fantastic!

I visit Martine’s at least once a week. It is by far the best coffee shop in Lexington. The staff is so incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. The atmosphere is great too. I’ve spent many hours sitting in Martine’s reading, working, or journaling and have met a few regulars doing so. The coffee is some of the best I have ever had. The food and pastries never disappoint. Every once in a while I’ll try a new baked good or lunch item (they’re always coming up with seasonal or new items) and I’m always impressed. My work is pretty close, so if we are celebrating anything I always drop by and get a cake or a few baked goods. My coworkers never fail to ask me where I get them from! (The pistachio cake is to die for.) If you haven’t been to Martine’s, you are truly missing out.

Generally speaking, Martine's is an adorable bakery with so many delicious items. My husband and I chose to have our wedding cake made by this bakery. Chelsea, the cake designer, is very sweet, helpful and patient. Our cake tasting visit was fun and it was a treat to be tasting various flavors of their cakes. We purchased a 3-tier and the 2 flavors were the chocolate with chocolate filling + yellow cake with raspberry filling; buttercream icing. These were delicious but so were many other flavor options including the lemon blueberry. Cake stand rented from them. The finished product was exactly what we wanted and we loved it. The only "negative" was that the box they sent for the top tier was too small (short) for the box to shut all the way with the cake in it, but this wasn't a big deal and we made it work! We ended up going ahead and eating the top tier so that we have an excuse to order cake again from them for our 1 year anniversary :) Strongly recommend this bakery for their wedding cakes (and other goodies).

I’ve been a fan of Martine’s Pastries for ages, but I’ve never been inside their bakery until today. And let me tell you, it was a total treat! There were so many delicious pastries to choose from, I couldn’t decide what to get. I ended up grabbing three for myself and my friend got two. Everything tasted amazing! My friend got a chai latte, but it wasn’t my favorite flavor.

4/30/2025 Wow- First, I was not able to visit this bakery. I do have a friend that drove in that morning for her birthday and brought her own birthday cake (I had nothing to do with it, don't blame me). Anyhoo, we had a wonderful lunch with some friends and then cake time. She opened the box to this amazing chocolate cake with a wonderful rich and thick buttercream that tasted like heaven. The cake layers were soaked in something that kept them super moist. I do not know how to relate to how amazing this cake was other than to say, get one or at least visit the bakery if you are in the area of Lexington! I cannot comment on anything other than the product, but I had to comment because of the amazing cake (which I did not even buy for the birthday girl, which is another story).
